The Counting of the Omer known as the Feast of Weeks

I have presented many clues to the rapture of the first fruits bride between Feast of first fruits and Pentecost what is also known as the Feast of Weeks and The Counting of the Omer. Based on this study I believe the scriptures offer proof that we will be raised on the third day, and live in his sight Hos 6:2. Once we are raised up what will Jesus our High Priest do with us, he will offer us up as a wave offering unto God? Heb 8:4-5. Explore the possibility with me!

WILL JESUS OUR HIGH PRIEST OFFER US UP AS A WAVE OFFERING UNTO GOD DURING THE FEAST OF WEEKS/ THE COUNTING OF THE OMER?

“seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things” Heb 8 4-5

Summary at a glance: Based on Heb 8: 1-5 Jesus our High Priest will offer up gifts unto God, one of the gifts being the firstfruit, the barley the bride. The barley loaves are the finished product of the priest that offer the loaves at the alter up before God. The priest themselves make the loaves of barley-firstfruits, which is a process of sifting, pounding and then baking frankincense and olive oil are added. The spotless single lamb is offered up first then the barley loaves, this offering is a sweet aroma unto the Lord. The Barley-Firstfruits-Bride has been sifted and tried many times, and is an overcommer, victorious and in love with the lord, the bride is the defined as the Church of Philadelphia. Rev 3:7

Key Point summary:

Jesus our High Priest ordained offer to offer gifts

Earthly priest offer gifts which are shadows of Heavenly offerings

Firstfruits- Barley is the first gift offered

People are mentioned as a Firstfruit- (not just a monetary offering)

First fruit is the Bride of Christ

Not all are Firstfruits- All should be!

Who are the barley- the Firstfruit Bride?

3 types people of the harvest - Barley, Wheat, Grapes

The process by which the Barley, the First Fruit must go through in order to be offered up. What the Bride of Christ must go through.

The wave offering by the High Priest- What does this mean for you?

Day 49 is the last day of the wave offering, the Counting of the Omer

Day 50 is Pentecost

THE FIRSTFRUIT (BARLEY) BRIDE OFFERED UP AS A WAVE OFFERING UNTO GOD-? Heb 8: 1-5 says that it “IS A SHADOW OF HEAVENLY THINGS”

THIS SUMS UP ALL THINGS SPOKEN: HEBREWS 8: 1-5

Vs. 1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum:

our HIGH PRIEST: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

JESUS A MINISTER OF THE SANCTUARY: vs. 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

JESUS IS ORDAINED TO OFFER GIFTS vs. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

PRIEST OFFER GIFTS ACCORDING TO THE LAW: vs. 4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

GIFTS OFFERED UP ARE SHADOWS OF THINGS TO COME: vs. 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things,

Is Hebrew 8:1-5 Telling us that Jesus will be offering up gifts?

Jesus our High Priest and a minister of the sanctuary right hand of the throne of the Majesty of Heaven, is ordained to offer gifs, just like the earthly priest offer gifts under the law, these priest serve as AN EXAMPLE AND A SHADOW OF HEAVENLY THINGS.

SHADOW OF THINGS TO COME: Three supporting verses: Holy Days= Feasts (Feasts are shadow of things to come)

16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday (Feasts), or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Hebrews 10:1For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things,

“seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things” Heb 8 4-5

People can be firstfruits, confirming scriptures:

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures James 1;18

Cor 15:23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

THE BRIDE IS THE FIRSTFRUITS

FIRSTFRUITS OFFERED UP IS BARLEY ONLY -NO WHEAT

THE BARLEY IS THE BRIDE

THE BRIDE IS THE FIRSTFRUIT OFFERED UP BY JESUS OUR HIGH PRIEST AND WAVED BEFORE GOD

The offering up of the barley firstfruits by the priest was what was done from Feast of Firstfruits each day for 49 days until Pentecost which is day 50, this is called the Counting of the Omer.

50 means Consummation, fulfilled, likened to a marriage contract.

ARE ALL FIRSTFRUITS? NO

WE SHOULD BE A KIND OF FIRSTFRUIT James 1:18 of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. We SHOULD BE?

Are all firstfruits? Apparently not, but we should be, those that are associated with the Barley Harvest are considered Firstfruits, which are the bride of Christ, the overcomers, the repentant, those who hold onto sound doctrine, those who have not lost there first love. The church is NOT the bride of Christ, it SHOULD BE but sin( If you are not sure of this read Rev 2-4 the 7 letters to the 7 churches)

Who and What Are the Barley….the Firstfruit’s the bride?

There are THREE Harvests which are three types of people- Barley people, Wheat people, and the grape people. All represent three types of people;

Barley is the easiest to harvest it is winnowed, “thrown up into the air” and the wind (Holy Spirit) separates the husk from the barley. Barley is known as a firstfruit and is the first harvested of the year…. THE FIRSTFRUITS! (the Biblical Calendar year starts in the spring)

The wheat is harder to harvest and it needs to be crushed by stomping or using a Tribulum board ( that is were the word Tribulation comes from). This is the second harvest of the year, the harvesting of the Wheat begins after the Barley harvest.

The grapes are harvested in the early fall have to be thrown into a wine press crushed and the juices have to be poured out. The grapes are those who have not yet become believers, but will come out of the great tribulation.

Jesus established the pattern of being a firstfruit from the dead and those who sleep and in Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

THE COUNTING OF THE OMER

Key Points:

Bring to the priest an omer (sheaf) of your first harvest-barley

Priest will wave the omer before the Lord

Waving begins the day after Passover ( the day after the Sabbath Passover)

meal offering Lamb = Jesus- loaves of barley=first fruits unto the LORD

It is an eternal decree for your generations in all your dwelling places.

You shall count for yourselves - from the day after the rest day (Passover), from the day when you bring the Omer of the waving - seven weeks, they shall be complete. Until the morrow of the seventh week

7 weeks x 7 =49 days of counting

of Shavuot -Day 50 Pentecost, 50= consummation, Webster’s likens it to a Marriage.

What Does this mean for the Barley Firstfruits Bride?

The barley will be the only grain harvested and offered up unto the lord. Our High Priest Jesus will wave the omer- the barley before God. The waving will begin the day after the Passover Sabbath. Jesus was the unblemished Lamb offered up as a burnt a satisfying aroma unto God, followed by the barley meal offering unto the lord. ( wine is mentioned this could be the blood of Jesus, or the grape harvest

I do not wish to speculate at this time about the drink offering)

"Biblical Sources: Leviticus 23:9-12 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 'Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: When you shall enter the Land that I give you, and reap its harvest, you shall bring an Omer from your first harvest to the priest. And he shall wave the Omer before the Lord, to be accepted for you. On the day after the rest day, (the first day of Passover), the priest shall wave it. On the day you wave the Omer, you shall perform the service of an unblemished lamb as a burnt-offering before the Lord. Its meal-offering shall be two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to the L-rd, a satisfying aroma; and its libation shall be wine, a quarter-hin. You shall not eat bread or roasted kernels or plump kernels until this very day, until you bring the offering of your God; it is an eternal decree for your generations in all your dwelling places.

You shall count for yourselves - from the day after the rest day (Passover), from the day when you bring the Omer of the waving - seven weeks, they shall be complete. Until the morrow of the seventh week

THE BARLEY, THE OMER , THE LOAVES,

SIFTED 13 TIMES, BEAT AND ROASTED! In order for the barley to become a wave offering this process had to be complete.

The barley had to first be harvested, and then carried by the priest on their backs to the temple. The barley when then be sifted 13 times, beat and then roasted into a coarse meal. The priest would offer lift it up before the alter and add frankincense and olive oil, the carry it to another corner and present the Omer offering. Then a single male lamb offering, then the meal offering was consumed by the priest and all.

The barley MUST GO THROUGH A PROCESS OF SIFTING, MANY TIMES, AND BEAT, AND THEN ROASTED!

The Barley will be sifted many times.

Trials… sifting 1 Peter 1:7-That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

And….

Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

THE PROCESS AND STEPS OF THE PEOPLE AND PRIEST

Key points:

Nissan 16 Following day after Passover, Priest and People gathered in Jerusalem barley fields.

was carried by priest back to the Holy Temple

Priest would sift the barley through 13 sieves

Priest would beat and roast barley into a coarse meal

Pan lifted by the priest before the alter, frankincense, and olive oil were added

Priest carried the pan of prepared barley to the corner alter and wave the Omer before God.

Priest would then proceed to the southwest corner of the altar, and present the Omer offering there

Finally, the priest would ascend to the altar, where he would scoop out a handful of the Omer grain, and drop it into the altar fire.

This was followed by the bringing of a single male lamb offering, as a burnt-offering.

From this point on, barley from the new harvest could be consumed by all.

The remaining grain that had been brought up to the Holy Temple by the priests would then be eaten by the priests.

The marketplaces of Jerusalem, in anticipation of this moment, were already laden with grain products

More details of the Counting of the Omer

Source: Temple Institute

1On the 16th of Nissan, the day following the first day of Passover, pilgrims and priests alike would gather in the fields outside of Jerusalem, and initiate the barley harvest. The barley was then carried by the priests back to the Holy Temple, where, in the eastern side of the Sanctified Court, (between the altar and the Nikanor Gate leading to the Women's Court), the priests would sift the barley through thirteen sieves, then beat and roast it. The barley kernels were roasted in a specially perforated pan. The pan sat atop a stand that also held a lower pan that would be filled with hot coals. This vessel was called the Abuv. After the barley was roasted, it was beaten into a coarse meal. The pan was then lifted by the priest up out of the Abuv, and, standing before the altar, a second priest would add a measure of frankincense, while a third priest added olive oil, in accordance with the commandment concerning all meal offerings. The priest would then carry the pan of prepared barley to the northeast corner of the altar, where he would "wave the Omer before G-d."

He would then proceed to the southwest corner of the altar, and present the Omer offering there, as was done with almost all meal-offerings. Finally, the priest would ascend to the altar, where he would scoop out a handful of the Omer grain, and drop it into the altar fire. This was followed by the bringing of a single male sheep, as a burnt-offering. From this point on, barley from the new harvest could be consumed by all. The remaining grain that had been brought up to the Holy Temple by the priests would then be eaten by the priests. Meanwhile, the marketplaces of Jerusalem, in anticipation of this moment, were already laden with grain products from the new barley harvest. Anxious Jerusalemites and pilgrims alike would flock to the markets to purchase the barley products.

The offering of the Omer began the forty nine day counting period that leads up to the Shavuot pilgrimage festival. Shavuot, which literally means "weeks," falls out on the fiftieth day following the Omer offering, seven complete weeks having been counted from the conclusion of the first day of Passover - "the day after the rest day."

THE BRIDE IS DEFINED BY AN OVERCOMMER, TRIED AND TESTED, VICTORIOUS! DEFINEDAS THE CHURCH OF PHILDELPHIA and or any other churchs/people who are overcomers, repentant, held onto sound doctrine, have not lost their first love, etc….

7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

9Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

11Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
